KHEDIRA CONSIDERING A SWITCH TO MLS
According to Tuttosport Juventus stalwart Sami Khedira is a subject of interest from different clubs in the MLS.
The German international has not hidden his admiration for the MLS and could be tempted to leave the Serie A side for the right offer. The reports added that the midfielder has so far received impressive offers from different clubs in the MLS. However, any potential move could be blocked by Bianconeri boss Massimo Allegri who considers the German a valuable member of the team. Also, Juventus would be hoping Khedira extends his stay in Turin to fend of other clubs who may be seeking his services.
Khedira who left Madrid as a free agent in summer 2015, signed a four years contract with Italian giants Juventus but faced initial setback following a string of injuries. Nonetheless, Khedira has put his initial injury woes behind him and has settled to life and demands of the Italian league. He has played a vital part in Juventus’ pursuit for the Scudetto this campaign, serving as a worthy replacement to injured Claudio Marchisio.
Juventus would no doubt need the services of their impressive midfielder just as the club prepares to face English champions Leicester City in the second round of the UEFA Champions League. Allegri considers Leicester a worthy opponent and would want his players fully prepared if they are to qualify for the quarter-final of the competition.
Elsewhere, Turin-based newspapers stated that Juventus full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner could be inserted into Allegri’s squad to face Leicester in the knockout stage of the Champions League slated for February next year.
Although the 32-year-old would be out of contract in the summer, Juventus may decide to extend his contract by 12 months as stated in his initial contract agreement.
