KHEDIRA BACKS LOEW

There have been reports in the German media that the German national team has lost its faith in the manager Joachim Loew, but the Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has dismissed any suggestions that they have lost their faith in the manager.

Joachim Loew has been in charge of the German national team since the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He has done a stellar job in the eyes of many after getting the German national team to semifinals and finals of major competitions. However, he is yet to get them to a victory in these competitions, which have raised questions about his ability to handle ultimate pressure.

The German media recently said that the players have lost their faith in the manager and that it was the time for change just before the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. However, the 25-year-old Sami Khedira, who has risen to prominence under Joachim Loew, has said that he expects the former German national team assistant manager to be successful at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Sami Khedira has attributed the lack of experience within the current German team as the reason for their failure at the Euro 2012, in which they were knocked out in the semi-final stage.

“We are 100 per cent confident in him. We have no doubt because he is a competent coach. A trainer proves his worth by making risky decisions and no one can blame him for his starting line-up in the semi-final of the European Championship. We, the players, were the ones on the pitch. We had many chances to score before the Italians got their goal and should also not have been 2-0 down,” said Sami Khedira ahead of the friendly match for Germany. Germany will once again the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
