KHEDIRA BACKS LOEW

August 23rd, 2012 by admin

There have been reports in the German media that the German national team has lost its faith in the manager Joachim Loew, but the Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has dismissed any suggestions that they have lost their faith in the manager.

Joachim Loew has been in charge of the German national team since the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He has done a stellar job in the eyes of many after getting the German national team to semifinals and finals of major competitions. However, he is yet to get them to a victory in these competitions, which have raised questions about his ability to handle ultimate pressure.

The German media recently said that the players have lost their faith in the manager and that it was the time for change just before the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. However, the 25-year-old Sami Khedira, who has risen to prominence under Joachim Loew, has said that he expects the former German national team assistant manager to be successful at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Sami Khedira has attributed the lack of experience within the current German team as the reason for their failure at the Euro 2012, in which they were knocked out in the semi-final stage.

“We are 100 per cent confident in him. We have no doubt because he is a competent coach. A trainer proves his worth by making risky decisions and no one can blame him for his starting line-up in the semi-final of the European Championship. We, the players, were the ones on the pitch. We had many chances to score before the Italians got their goal and should also not have been 2-0 down,” said Sami Khedira ahead of the friendly match for Germany. Germany will once again the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

BAYERN TARGET KHEDIRA

July 27th, 2012 by admin

As per the advice of the Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer, the club has decided to make an offer for the Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira. Bayern Munich managed to lose in all the three competitions they took part in last season. This coupled with the fact that they have now lost the Champions League title for the second time in three seasons after having come extremely close means that they are likely to invest heavily in the summer in order to strengthen the team. The Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has emerged as the real target for the German club, as they plot a way to bring him back to Germany.

The 25-year-old has been at the Santiago Bernabeu since 2010, but it is thought that he would be interested in the possibility of returning to Germany and playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world – Bayern Munich. He first came to light while playing for the German national team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Real Madrid then swiftly moving to secure his signature of the former Stuttgart midfielder. Sami Khedira is a player who can perform exceptionally well alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger due to his defensive side of the game.

It is thought that Bayern Munich are willing to offer the attacking midfielders position for Sami Khedira due to his importance with the German national team and also within the Real Madrid team. Even though Khedira is widely regarded to be a box to box player, it is thought that he would be interested to the possibility of joining Bayern Munich where he can play the attacking midfielders position. Khedira is one of the many German players who was exceptional at the Euro 2012 – a tournament that Spain managed to win ahead of Italy.

KHEDIRA: IGNORE LOSS

June 27th, 2012 by admin

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has said that the German national team should not be paying too much of an attention to the shock 5-3 defeat they suffered at the hands of Switzerland in a friendly match before the Euro 2012.

Germany are expected to be one of the challenges for the title after they have finished in the top three positions in the last three major tournaments. They came extremely close to winning the Euro 2008 only to be denied by an excellent Spanish team, which has went on to win the 2010 FIFA World Cup as well. Due to the fact that Germany come into the Euro 2012 with a fully fit squad, they are expected to win the tournament itself.

However, they suffered a shock 5-3 defeat against Switzerland. Even though it was a friendly match, the German media (and the Tottenham news website) have been quick to jump on the fact that the team has conceded five goals against a mediocre Switzerland team. It has been a season of disappointment for German players, with Bayern Munich players being the most suffered. However, Sami Khedira is of the opinion that the national team has the quality to win a tough tournament like the Euro 2012.

“It was not a good game for us on Saturday but we should not go crazy. We should not ignore the result but we should equally not overestimate it. We can still win the tournament. The Bayern players were wounded but they are now full of anticipation for the tournament. They are fully focused. He laughs normally, he speaks normally, he is just normal,” said Sami Khedira after the 5-3 defeat to Switzerland.

Sami Khedira is expected to be one of the important members of the squad when national team manager Joachim Loew names his 23 man squad, as he is Germany’s midfield general like Cesc Fabregas is for Spain.

KHEDIRA WAS ON-SIDE

May 12th, 2012 by admin

Former Spanish La Liga referee Raul Garcia de Loza has said that the opening goal scored by Sami Khedira in the latest El Clasico at the Camp Nou is not an offside goal. Sami Khedira managed to capitalise on the mistake by Barcelona captain Carlos Puyol to score the opening goal of the match, which also turned out to be the record goal for Real Madrid. It provided Real Madrid with the best opportunity to get three points from the match, as they continued to play on the counter-attack. Even though Barcelona equalised through Sanchez in the second half, Barcelona immediately lost the lead to a goal from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Many have been saying that the goal scored by Sami Khedira in the first quarter of the match was extremely important in providing Real Madrid with the impetus and belief in the remaining minutes. However, there has also been a controversy surrounding a goal because it appears on the replays that Sami Khedira is an offside position when Carlos Puyol receives the ball. Raul Garcia de Loza was the referee of the Spanish league matches for almost 10 years from 1984 to 1994. He has said that the goal scored by Sami Khedira is perfect.

“In the first goal there was no foul by Pepe, nor was Khedira offside. He was played on by Adriano. Barcelona’s goal is legit, just like Ronaldo’s. There were no mistakes in the key plays. Undiano Mallenco officiated well tonight, he made no errors for most part. In the second half, there was the odd card misjudgment, but not in the most important phases of play. It was a game of high tension but he kept it under control. He deserves a good mark for his performance,” said the former referee regarding the goal by Khedira.
