Chelsea FC seem to be getting aggressive when it comes to buying players. They are also extremely keen on taking advantage of the bargain deals at the moment. First, they signed Romeu from Barcelona for a relatively cheap £ 4 million in the summer. Now, it seems that Sami Khedira is one of the transfer targets for Andre Villas-Boas.
The German joined Real Madrid only in the summer, but has grown disillusioned with life at the Santiago Bernabeu due to the lack of chances. It is thought that he would be willing to discuss a potential move to other clubs in January, with Chelsea and Manchester United being amongst the favourite destinations.
It remains to be seen if Real Madrid will be willing to discuss a potential move in January given that they already have the likes of Lassana Diarra and Nuri Sahin who can play in the position. Further, the fact that full-back Fabio Coentrao also impressed in the same position means that Sami Khedira is unlikely to get the same kind of chances he once dreamt when signing for Real Madrid. Other clubs will have been showing a lot of interest in the German international are AC Milan and Manchester City. In addition to being in linked with Sami Khedira, Chelsea are also interested in signing Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho.
They could also consider going back for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric. “There is always competition for places at a club like Real Madrid, regardless of the position you play in. The only thing you can do is show what you’re worth on the pitch and that’s what I’ve been doing so far. There are four or five excellent players available for the position of holding midfielder here,” Khedira told when asked about his future at Real Madrid.

He has been in stellar from this season and it was one of the reasons for Real Madrid to keep a lot of clean sheets this season. Still, Sami Khedira is refusing to get carried away, as he believes that Barcelona are still capable of catching Real Madrid.
Real Madrid currently lead the La Liga table, which is something that has not happened for a long time in the last few years, and Sami Khedira believes that they can reclaim the title from Barcelona this season. It was something that was very much expected of them when José Mourinho arrived with a lot of fanfare last season.
He also said that current Borussia Dortmund star Mario Gotze should consider staying in Germany for a while before moving to Spain or England. “I would like say to Gotze ‘come to Madrid’, but in reality I don’t think it’s for me to say.” Regarding Mourinho, he said “Mourinho is the pretty much the perfect coach, not just as a professional, but also as a person. He is always doing his best to help you, especially when you are not playing at your very best.”
