Chelsea Interested In Khedira

July 8th, 2014 by admin

Sami Khedira has one year remaining in his contract with Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti is believed to not include the German midfielder in his plans for the upcoming season, as the club has replacements available in the club. This has attracted the attention of Chelsea who is one of the latest clubs on displaying interest in the 27 year old defensive midfielder.

Carlo Ancelotti is already working hard trying to sign Toni Kroos with a price tag of €25 million and the Spanish club is also setting their eyes on Luis Gustavo from Wolfsburg who plays in the same position as Khedira.

Louis van Gaal is also considering on signing Sami Khedira as he can pair up with some of Manchester United’s latest signings such as Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw. The Dutch manager is prepared on spending big bucks in order to improve his squad for the next season as supporters of the club at Old Trafford want to avoid going through another disastrous campaign and signing an experienced player such as Sami Khedira can help the club on avoiding that.

Even though Sami Khedira is mostly just playing a substitute role in the 2014 World Cup,  he still remains being a player that is only focusing on representing his nation at the international stage and he is not focusing or even thinking about what will happen with his club once the worldwide event concludes.

Once the World Cup finishes, it will be relatively easier for the German midfielder to decide on his future with Real Madrid or any other club that is willing to pay around €20-€40 million and sign him.

Arsenal consider Sami Khedira swoop

June 23rd, 2014 by admin

Arsenal is considering making a transfer swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.

The Gunners are targeting the German international midfielder to bolster their central midfield options after Mikel Arteta failed to convince the club about his long term form with some inconsistent performances last season.

Chelsea is also reportedly in the running for the signature of the German midfield general with Jose Mourinho looking at the player for as an ideal replacement for the departing Frank Lampard. Mourinho is a huge fan of the Algerian born German international and wanted to sign him for Chelsea last season when he returned to the club from Real Madrid.

The likes of Fiorentina are also interested in the services of the 27 year old, who spent the majority of last season on the treatment table after suffering a horrific injury. Real Madrid has been linked with several midfield signings including Marco Veratti from Paris Saint Germain, Ramires from Chelsea and Paul Pogba from Juventus and that leaves the future of Sami Khedira in serious doubt.

And this could open the door for a move to Arsenal and with several German internationals already in the side, Arsene Wenger could hope for a transfer coup just like he managed with Mesut Ozil last summer.

Khedira is currently in Brazil with the German squad for the World Cup and any move for the player would have to wait till the end of the showpiece event.

The FA Cup holders have long been criticized for not signing a seasoned defensive midfielder of world class caliber and it now seems that Arsene Wenger is ready to make amends and offer Real Madrid £ 16 million plus add-ons for Sami Khedira.

Khedira joined Real from VfB Stuttgart after impressing for the German side in the World Cup in 2010.

Khedira Back for More

May 19th, 2014 by admin

Real Madrid have been boosted by the news that midfielder Sami Khedira could be back in action for the weekend’s match against Celta de Vigo. Madrid will be taking on their Spanish opponents in the league looking to keep their slim title hopes alive. The 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid has put Atletico Madrid and Barcelona as the favourites for the title with just two matches remaining in the season. Madrid have to hope for an astonishing set of results in order to retain the title. As result, they are set to shift their focus towards the Champions League.

They have reached the final of the competition. However, they have had to pay a high price for this qualification since Xabi Alonso is suspended for the final against Atletico. He is one of the few defensive midfielders in the team. Due to his absence, Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has to come up with different ways to prevent Atletico from scoring against them in the final. He has been boosted by the news that Khedira, who has been a top player for them since the move in 2009, has been missing for the last few months due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

His return is not only a boost for Madrid but also for the German national team as well.

“Arbeloa and Khedira are available and I will decide what to do with them later. I need to see whether they will start or whether it would be better to bring them on in the second half, when there is less intensity in the match. They will definitely play. Khedira is very confident and really wants to play. Arbeloa has worked very hard and with incredible professionalism,” said Ancelotti. Madrid will be without Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo for this match.

KHEDIRA RULED OUT

May 8th, 2014 by admin

An injury has left out Sami Khedira for the vast majority of the season as the defensive midfielder is recovering from the knee injury he sustained during Germany’s friendly match against Italy in November.

Khedira revealed that his objective is to get fit before the 2014 World Cup and hopefully get another chance to play for Germany but if he does not recover in time, it will not be the end of the world.

‘’My goal is to play at the World Cup, but I am still relaxed about it. If I don’t make it, it won’t be the end of the world for me.”

“I will work obsessively until the last second, but I also know that there’s no point lying to yourself, which is something I have learned in rehab. You shouldn’t want to run when you know that you’re not ready yet’’. Khedira said

Joachim Low is the head coach of Germany and he is the man who will be choosing which players to take into Brazil but the tactician has already stated that he will only consider those who are not only fit but have been performing exceedingly well with their respective clubs.

Even though Khedira has been out of action for the majority of the season, Real Madrid is going to be renewing the contract of the German midfielder as soon as he recovers from his injury.

Khedira has a contract with Real Madrid which runs up until 2015 but the Spanish club is expecting to extend his stay until 2018. The contract extension is going to be a way for them to retain Khedira and keep away clubs who are interested in signing him such as Fiorentina and Inter Milan.

KHEDIRA MAKING PROGRESS

March 25th, 2014 by admin

After suffering a major injury during the first half of the season, Sami Khedira has revealed that he is making good progress in the last few weeks. The Real Madrid midfielder has been a major doubt for the World Cup 2014. He was playing for the German national team when he suffered the injury in November. He continues to be an important part of the club and national teams. Hence, there was a lot of expectation that he would be back for the final few weeks of the campaign. This would be a major boost for Carlo Ancelotti, whose team are fighting to win the league and the Champions League.

Khedira, though, seems to have not fixed any comeback date since it would only worsen the rehabilitation process. Khedira has already made 44 appearances for the German national team despite being only 26 years of age. After initially struggling to cope with his absence, Real Madrid have been struggling to get consistent results in recent months. They have gone top of the table with a four-point advantage over archrivals Barcelona. Ancelotti has suggested that there is a chance that Khedira may come into the team with only a couple of matches remaining in the season. However, the player seems to be insistent on getting back only when he is fully fit.

“I’m doing my best not to get ahead of myself. I am trying to look as little as possible into the future. Right now I’m focused on working hard and conscientiously every day. That’s my main concern, not announcing when I’ll be fit again. I believe that it is the right way to fully concentrate on the rehab. Everything else comes after that,” said the midfielder in a recent interview. Khedira was signed from Stuttgart after the midfielder impressed at the 2010 World Cup.
