Sami Khedira is hopeful about Juventus winning the Champions League
It’s hard to argue the fact that Juventus is the most dominating club in Italy and it has been this way for the past 6 years as they have successively managed to win the Serie A title in a convincing manner.
For the past decade, Juventus has been the most influential and powerful club in Italy and this is something that simply cannot be debated in any possible way but when it comes to competing and actually winning in Europe, Juventus and Italian clubs in general have been extremely disappointing.
The last Italian club that won the UEFA Champions League was Inter Milan and this was back in 2010. The last time that Juventus tasted European success at the highest level was back on 1996 when they emerged as the best club in Europe after defeating Ajax in the finals.
Even though Juventus has not lifted the UEFA Champions League in over 20 years, Sami Khedira believes that the Italian club has the capabilities to compete against the rest of the top European teams and maybe even rise as the best which they have not been able to do in more than a decade.
Sami Khedira recently stated that he just has a good feeling involving Juventus and them being able to win the European competition as the German midfielder said: “Sometimes you have a feeling and this year I do have a very good feeling, but unfortunately seven or eight other teams have the same feeling. We have to work, go forward with much concentration and I think we can reach it.”
Juventus are currently attempting to snatch a spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and were able to secure a 2-0 triumph over Porto in their 1st leg. The 2nd leg is scheduled to take place on March 14 but the Italian club has been doing fairly impressive so far and should be able to get into the quarter-finals unless Porto makes a phenomenal comeback.
