Sami Khedira Unhappy with yet Another Defeat against a Milan Club
Juventus are the clear favourites to win the Italian Serie A once again largely because of the league lacking in proper competition.
Teams like Napoli and Roma are simply not at the level of Juventus while AC Milan and Inter Milan are far away from making any threat at the top of the table. This element may have just changed in the Italian Serie A after AC Milan’s takeover by Chinese investors. The club are yet to make significant investment in the transfer window, but there has been a lot of positivity surrounding the club. It was a major factor in helping Milan beat Juventus 1-0 at the San Siro.
Midfielder Sami Khedira was part of the team that suffered this shock defeat, but he later explained his deep regret at losing the game. Incredibly, Juventus have suffered only two defeats so far this season and both have come against the two Milan clubs. The first defeat – against Inter – came in the middle of September and since then Juventus seemed to have recovered quite well.
This latest defeat now prevents the team from opening up an advantage in the league table. One of the reasons for this defeat may have been the Champions League exertions in the midweek against Lyon.
“We’re not happy about losing but we’re only in October.The good thing is that we have the chance to get a better result just four days later.When we’re on our game we’re one of the best sides in Europe. We have to show that on the pitch,” said Khedira. It has been an unusual season for the former Real Madrid midfielder since he has managed to get two goals for the club. Khedira has never been a goal scorer, but manager Massimiliano Allegri has pushed him in a more offensive role as a replacement for the departed Paul Pogba.
