SANTA CRUZ TO BE REUNITED WITH PL COLLEAGUE
With speculations from the press and fans, it is possible that Argentina’s star player, Roque Santa Cruz would be reuniting with Emmanuel Adebayor who was former teammate when they were together at Manchester City.
In 2016, Santa Cruz had moved to Paraguay where he was a key player at Olimpia, where he spent his boyhood and ever since then, he had remained at the club as he advances gradually in his career moments. Having clocked 38-years, Santa Cruz has been in a rather amazing form recently and is currently leading the line for his team, Olimpia in the Paraguayan league.
He has also shown his debut in the last 10 games of the club where he has scored a total of 17 goals and this gives him an air of view at the club as he proves he still has the finishing touch and finesse he displayed when he was still at Ewood Park. He had shown great talent back then and had been at the forefront of the game always.
In the 2007/08 tournament, he was nominated as the club’s Player of the Season after making 57 appearances for the team and scoring a total of 23 goals in all competitions. With the look of things now, he might be getting reunited with his colleague with whom they had made a partnership when he exited Rovers to go play at Manchester City.
At the moment, Adebayor is playing for the Turkish team Kayserisporhaving left his former team, Istanbul Basaksehir during the summer season. Currently, there are speculations thathe would be going over to South America to join Santa Cruz at Olimpia for a second partnership as they had done in the past. With the two players being together once more, there will be no surprise that the team would be at its best as they head for arrays of trophies.
