Football sometimes is a funny profession. Most of the ones we have out there operate on a clean system of rewards for its greatest achievers.
The scientists have their Nobel, the corporate business world their promotions while the Actors have their Oscar and Academy awards.
Although soccer has its own system, its being more of a collective sport than individual means some players are bound to be caught between the cross fires of team and personal efforts.
The best way to escape, as Ronaldo has shown,is be among and compete with the best no matter what it takes.
Some players though, maybe due to sentiments and emotions, find it hard to be surgical about their desires. Francesco Totti is an example. The retired Roma captain found it hard to cut the apron strings of the city he was born and bred, to entertain the thought of waking up and finding himself in some far away land just so he could stock more silverware into his show glass.
Juventus goal keeper Gianluigi Buffon is another one that came close. Although with the Bianconeri, Buffon had the chance to every major trophy except one that totally deluded him – the Champions League. (more…)

It’s hard to argue the fact that Juventus is the most dominating club in Italy and it has been this way for the past 6 years as they have successively managed to win the Serie A title in a convincing manner.
For the past decade, Juventus has been the most influential and powerful club in Italy and this is something that simply cannot be debated in any possible way but when it comes to competing and actually winning in Europe, Juventus and Italian clubs in general have been extremely disappointing.
The last Italian club that won the UEFA Champions League was Inter Milan and this was back in 2010. The last time that Juventus tasted European success at the highest level was back on 1996 when they emerged as the best club in Europe after defeating Ajax in the finals. (more…)

According to Tuttosport Juventus stalwart Sami Khedira is a subject of interest from different clubs in the MLS.
The German international has not hidden his admiration for the MLS and could be tempted to leave the Serie A side for the right offer. The reports added that the midfielder has so far received impressive offers from different clubs in the MLS. However, any potential move could be blocked by
Bianconeri boss Massimo Allegri who considers the German a valuable member of the team. Also, Juventus would be hoping Khedira extends his stay in Turin to fend of other clubs who may be seeking his services.
Khedira who left Madrid as a free agent in summer 2015, signed a four years contract with Italian giants Juventus but faced initial setback following a string of injuries. Nonetheless, Khedira has put his initial injury woes behind him and has settled to life and demands of the Italian league. He has played a vital part in Juventus’ pursuit for the Scudetto this campaign, serving as a worthy replacement to injured Claudio Marchisio. (more…)

Juventus are the clear favourites to win the Italian Serie A once again largely because of the league lacking in proper competition.
Teams like Napoli and Roma are simply not at the level of Juventus while AC Milan and Inter Milan are far away from making any threat at the top of the table. This element may have just changed in the Italian Serie A after AC Milan’s takeover by Chinese investors. The club are yet to make significant investment in the transfer window, but there has been a lot of positivity surrounding the club. It was a major factor in helping Milan beat Juventus 1-0 at the San Siro.
Midfielder Sami Khedira was part of the team that suffered this shock defeat, but he later explained his deep regret at losing the game. Incredibly, Juventus have suffered only two defeats so far this season and both have come against the two Milan clubs. The first defeat – against Inter – came in the middle of September and since then Juventus seemed to have recovered quite well. (more…)

Former Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira believes that Manchester United should show more respect to midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Manager José Mourinho has frozen out the midfielder without giving out proper reasons. This has been surprising especially given that Schweinsteiger is a World Cup winner and is regarded as one of the finest midfielders in the world. Even though he is at 32 years of age and struggled with injuries last season, it would not be a reason to leave out a top midfielder from the first team squad.
Schweinsteiger has been training alone or with the reserve team since the start of the season.
Even though recently the midfielder was included in the Premier League squad, it is largely seen as the result of players like Anthony Martial being included in the under-23 list. Once upon a time, Khedira was linked with a move to Manchester United as they searched hard for a defensive midfielder. However, a major injury just before the start of the World Cup 2014 ruined his chances of a move but then the chance of joining Juventus came up. The German joined the Italian outfit on a free transfer and he has already won the league title in his first season at the club.

Bayern are overwhelming favourites to retain the league title that they have won for the last three seasons in succession under Pep Guardiola.
Sami Khedira may be playing for Juventus, but he has been keeping a close watch on the German league as ever. After having played majority of his football with Stuttgart, it is widely expected that Khedira will represent Bayern Munich at some point in the future. Sami Khedira is not the most flashy or standout player in the world of football but nonetheless, his contributions cannot go unnoticed as the German midfielder is an experienced performer who can help out either in the defensive section of any team or the midfield department as well and most of his work usually goes unnoticed as he isn’t at the spotlight as much in comparison to other players.
The German midfielder has almost spent 5 years playing for Real Madrid with over 100 appearances having been made for the Spanish club and huge titles being secured along the way.
Even with all of the major pieces of silverware that Sami Khedira has helped Real Madrid in securing, it seems like the time that the German player spent at the Santiago Bernabeu was not as good as it seemed to be.
Khedira made a total of 11 league appearances for Real Madrid in this season and the German player said due to the things that have been going on recently with the club; it has affected him on a personal level.
The 2014 World Cup winner sustained an injury in this season which has left him out of action even after he was recovered and ready to play. Even when Khedira was prepared to play and fully healed from his injuries, he still had to settle with a place on the sidelines. (more…)

Friday, April 24th, 2015
A few weeks ago Sami Khedira announced that he will be leaving the Spanish side Real Madrid when his contract expires at the end of the season. Khedira is not a consistent starter at the Santiago Bernabeu and the player wants to make a move to a club where he can consistently perform which is not going to happen with Real Madrid anytime soon.
The 28 year old German midfielder told the media: “It’s not a decision against Real Madrid. I want to start a new stage in my career and continue to grow.”
Sami Khedira has a tough time trying to get into the team of Carlo Ancelotti as the Italian manager prefers using Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez in the midfield department of the squad.
In a few months’ time, Khedira’s contract with Real Madrid will be over and the German player already has a number of clubs that are preparing offers in order to sign him.
Schalke 04 is one of those interested clubs and the chairman Clemens Tonnies believes that Sami Khedira wants to make a return to Germany which is where his professional playing career started as he began playing with Stuttgart in 2004 and it was the first top European club that he performed in.
Roberto Di Matteo is the coach of Schalke 04 and even though the German club is doing a fine job in this season as they are competing in the top 6 spots of the Bundesliga, Di Matteo is still interested in signing a few more players that could upgrade the team even further and Khedira has the characteristics that could greatly improve the team.
