Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has dismissed any rumours linking him with a return to Spain with Real Madrid. Sergio Aguero arrived from Athletico Madrid only in the summer for around £ 38 million. Real Madrid initially tried to sign him, but were unable to do so due to their rivalry with the Athletico Madrid club. Now that he has moved to another club, Real Madrid are targeting the Argentine as a potential strike partner for Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. Even though Aguero is relatively new to the Premier league, he has already scored 24 goals this season for Manchester City.
However, Aguero has dismissed the rumours linking him with a move back to Spain saying that he is extremely happy with life in Manchester and wants to win a lot of trophies with City. City currently challenging for the Premier league title alongside their rivals Manchester United. Even though United are the favourites for the title due to their extraordinary experience, City believe that they can win the title for the first time since 1968. Sergio Aguero said that he would like to achieve a personal target of 30 goals in his inaugural season in the Premier league.
“None of the stories about Real Madrid have come from me and the City fans can rest assured I am happy here. First and foremost, the major aim is to win the league title this season. Then I want to stay here for a long time after that. I’m very, very happy here. From the moment I arrived, everyone has treated me really well,” Aguero said regarding the reports linking him with Real Madrid. Real Madrid have already secured the signing of one Premier league great in the form of Ronaldo in 2009. Aguero could be their second major acquisition from England.
